I enjoyed the episode. Have you been to attic24? She has ways to join granny squares. I haven't tried this one but if I ever get my granny squares started I will. http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/joining-granny-sqaures.html
ReplyDeleteMariGayle, I have been enjoying your blog very much. I also knit, spin, and sew. I have made tons of granny squares and I always weave them together with a large yarn needle. I haven't made any socks in a while, you are inspiring me. I added you to my blog roll.
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
Shirley--Thanks for the link! The tutorial looks awesome. I love the granny squares in it. I wish I had more time in my day! (says the unemployed girl. I should shut up!)
ReplyDeleteSusan--Thank you so much for the encouragement. I hope you do make some socks--I can't get enough of them. In fact, my fingers are constantly sore from the tiny needles. What is wrong with me?!
I used to crochet granny squares. To connect them I would hold them together, right sides facing, and do a granny stitch row across. That way you don't see a seam.
ReplyDeleteI love all the sock knitting you're doing! I just learned to knit socks, so I'm all into socks right now.
I laughed about your yarn buying excursion. I have a new thing I do. I have a certain amount of money I allow myself for grocery shopping each week. Whatever I don't spend at the super market, goes towards yarn. That way, I'm not really spending money on yarn.
I love seeing all your socks! I hope you make the 52 pairs, I look forward to seeing them each week :)
