WOYNW/WIP Wednesdays

Kerry from Knit, Sew & Scrap is starting a new Meme, What's On Your Needles Wednesday. Sounds fun! This is week three. Tami from Tami's Amis and Other Crochet also hosts one, with a different name: WIP Wednesdays. I'm combining the two! Visit both for some great inspiration! Here's mine:

Mystery Sock Knit Along: Family Jewels by Wendy Gaal.
This is the end of clue # 3. I didn't get as much done as I had hoped!

I just cast this on this morning, and I will be done tonight. Now my ipod cords won't
be tangled (or cold)!

Yarmando's Mashup Sock by Don Yarman because I don't have enough socks on my needles.

Pink Ribbon Socks by Laura Spradlin. These are for my mother-in-law. I was hoping to have them finished by the end of the week, but I don't think that will be happening! I've never made cuff down, and I haven't gotten to the heel yet, so I'm a little nervous. This is the THIRD version that I've cast on. It has lasted the longest so far....

All the Details...

Okay. I think I'm set up on itunes! . I also set up a Ravelry group, I think. I'm not sure if I did any or all of it correctly, but I've tried! Anything else I should do?

Episode 3: The One with the Crooked Lampshade

I just noticed the lampshade. Hope it doesn't drive you crazy, especially now that I pointed it out!!

The video teaching RT and LT can be found here. I'm sure Wendy does a much better job explaining them than I do!

Here is the video explaining L-inc and R-inc. I didn't even TRY to explain those!

The socks I'm making (hopefully making) are the Pink Ribbon socks by Laura Sparadin.

WOYNW

Kerry from Knit, Sew & Scrap is starting a new Meme, What's On Your Needles Wednesday. Sounds fun! Here's mine:

Fantasy Dishcloth by Knitting Magic Girl. This was just started on last week's show, and I haven't really worked on it too much. I'm planning on making it into a longer towel and maybe making a couple of larger (wider) towels to match.

Pink Ribbon Socks by Laura Spradlin. These are for my mother-in-law. I will explain why they are purple tomorrow (hopefully tomorrow) on the show.

Today:
A few days ago:

Mystery Sock III: Family Jewels by Wendy Gaal. I am just finishing up on clue number 2. I'm behind, so I need to knit faster. I want to have that feeling of "I can't wait for the next clue," but the clues are coming out faster than I'm knitting. I DID start almost a month late...

So, that's what's on my needles. What's on yours? Head over to Kerry's blog to sign up!

I'm going to try to make my video podcast tomorrow, but with the snow coming, I am pretty sure the kids will be home from school. You may not be able to HEAR me if I record tomorrow! Make sure you come back and see if I've made any progress on those mystery socks!

Ode to Liat

I didn't mean to make this an infomercial, but it sure sounds like one!

I'm excited about the launching of a new e-book by Liat of KnitFreedom, and I got a little carried away. You should definitely check out her website-she has a lot of tips and hints for beginner knitters like me or people who already know what they are doing.

Groundhog Day

Supposedly, there will be an early Spring this year, so I'd better finish up all those gloves and scarves I've been drooling over!!

Here is my first video-blog. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm going to try to do some show notes, but since I'm not very good at details, I'm not sure I can make them properly... I'm just going to link to the patterns (all free) I showed y'all today. That is a good start!

Socks: Mash-Up Magic Toe Up Socks by Zhenya made with Patons Kroy Sock Yarn
Towel: Fantasy Dishcloth by Magic Knit Girl made with Lily Sugar n Cream Yarn
Socks: Mystery Sock KAL III by Wendy Gaal made with Knitter's Brewing Company "Cordova"
