Groundhog Day

Supposedly, there will be an early Spring this year, so I'd better finish up all those gloves and scarves I've been drooling over!!

Here is my first video-blog. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm going to try to do some show notes, but since I'm not very good at details, I'm not sure I can make them properly... I'm just going to link to the patterns (all free) I showed y'all today. That is a good start!

  3. I just found your podcast and decided to start with your first episode. I've been knitting for just over a year, and only recently began to devote more than a couple of hours a week to it. I also knit to cope with a job loss (two years and four months... and counting), so I can relate to how it gives you a purpose and a sense of accomplishment during a trying time. Your podcast concept is a lush little island in an endless sea of knitting podcasts and blogs that are educational and inspiring, but can sometimes become repetitive, confusing, and even a little overwhelming for beginning knitters. Your honesty and self-deprecation (intended in the very best way) are refreshing and comforting and I felt from the first couple of minutes like I was having a heart to heart with a friend who's going through the same challenges and exciting changes I am in learning something new. How brave it is to hold up your very first knitted scarf and admit proudly that you didn't weave in the ends, but that you and its recipient love it despite its imperfections... perhaps even because of them. Bravo, Mari! You are adorable and wise way beyond your knitting years. I look forward to catching up with all your episodes and following your journey as I continue along mine.
